Toronto Periodontist, Dr. Jill Levine Places Multiple Dental Implants for her Patients
Dental implants can replace multiple missing teeth providing a return to natural function and aesthetics. Implants can also be used to build an implant-supported bridge. Two or more dental implants would support the bridge, similar to a bridge supported by natural teeth.
Replacing multiple teeth using dental implants with individual crowns or with an implant-supported fixed bridge gives your teeth a level of fit and functionality that no other treatment options can provide.
This process is typically completed in the following steps:
- Consultation and planning
- Placement of the dental implant posts that will be used to support your implant crowns. A temporary restoration or prosthesis will be used to replace the missing teeth during the healing process.
- Placement of the abutments on top of each implant. These will connect to your implant crowns.
- Placement of a fixed, implant-supported bridge or permanent implant crowns.
